Jägermeister is a German bitter-sweet liqueur made from 56 varieties of herbs, fruits, and spices, macerated in spirit for up to six weeks, and then matured in oak before blending
Jägermeister is German digestif alcohol made with 56 unique spices and botanicals, concocted in 1934. It’s 35% ABV, which is moderately high liquor for alcohol. It was imagined by the child of a vinegar producer, Curt Mast, who was enthusiastic about hunting. He suitably named his creation “Hunting Master,” the term for a German authority responsible for hunting and gaming.
So how did things turn out from German alcohol to school party drink of decision? An American promoting virtuoso. A man named Sidney Frank ran the alcohol bringing-in organization that imported Jagermeister. In the 1980s, he elevated the beverage to understudies as a party drink and it got on. So without Frank, Jager would in any case be a beverage for moderately aged Germans.
Prevalence of the beverage in the US has eased back recently, presumably because of its retro school carouser status. Yet, attempt it once more, and it has an intricate, interesting flavor that is substantially more than its standing would propose.
